Annual Community Festival Has High Hopes for Low Winds
The 18th annual Coachella Valley Wildflower Festival will be in full bloom March 1, 2025 10AM-4PM in Palm Desert’s Civic Center Park. Make plans now to attend this highly-anticipated free outdoor community event celebrating wellness, outdoor adventuring, and the stars: our resilient desert wildflowers. Presented by the City of Palm Desert, the event put on entirely by Friends of the Desert Mountains (Friends) and their volunteer corps. This year’s Festival will feature a new “Power to the Pollinators” native plant sale!
“Despite a high-wind blowout in 2024, we can’t wait to bring back a bigger and better Wildflower Festival for our Coachella Valley Friends and families,” says Friends’ Executive Director Tammy Martin.
Friends’ annual Wildflower Festival brings the best of the desert to your doorstep: skilled local artisans, shopping and information booths, enchanting wildflower displays, an exciting raffle, and live music. Our huge interactive Kids' Zone and “Naturally Inspired” youth art contest brings families from all over Coachella Valley. New this year will be our Native Plant Sale and Pollinator “wing” to help locals and visitors understand the benefits of choosing local flora for your “yardening”. Local food trucks and beverage booths onsite – and a beer and wine garden with live music means fun for all ages. Art Flying Aerial will be on hand to demonstrate their high-flying skills once more – are you bold enough to try it too?
This FREE event is fun for all ages and helps promote education, environmental stewardship, land conservation, and an appreciation of for what protecting our desert means to our community.
