Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage Opens July 23, Uniting 30 Restaurants and More Than 40 Nonprofits

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — July 16, 2026 — Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage begins July 23 and runs through August 16, bringing together approximately 30 participating restaurants and more than 40 local nonprofit organizations in a program designed to strengthen the city's hospitality sector while directing meaningful support to community causes and having FUN along the way.

The program's structure is deliberately simple. Wristbands are sold by participating nonprofits, wristband holders gain access to exclusive deals and specials at restaurants throughout Rancho Mirage for the program's duration, along with a Taste of Summer passport for tracking visits (this is part of the FUN!) and restaurants get a boost of business during this time.

The City of Rancho Mirage is amplifying the program through an enhancement to its Shop Local Rancho Mirage gift card. For the duration of Taste of Summer, gift card purchases will receive an additional 50 percent from the City: a $100 purchase yields $150 in spending power. Paired with the wristband deals, the enhancement represents a substantial multiplier on every dollar spent locally.

"Summer is the hardest stretch of the year for our restaurants, and every one of them has a staff counting on those months. Taste of Summer Rancho Mirage gives the community a reason to show up — and when you can support 40 local nonprofits while enjoying deals at some of the desert's best dining establishments, everyone wins. That's the kind of program where nobody has to lose for someone else to come out ahead," said Katie Slimko-Tuvell, IOM, President/CEO of the Rancho Mirage Chamber of Commerce.

Summer represents a traditionally slower season for Coachella Valley restaurants. Taste of Summer addresses that reality directly — filling tables during the leanest months, channeling revenue to nonprofits serving the community, and delivering genuine value to residents and visitors. Few programs align the interests of business, philanthropy, and the public quite so cleanly.
